When I was evaluating layout managers a while back I completely skipped MigLayout because all the examples used String-based constraints and I was looking for type-safety. It's only by pure luck that I ran across the API-based constraints a few months later. I suggest adding a quick reference to the API-based constraints to the top of the Quick Start Guide to prevent others from making the same mistake:

The following sections use String-based constraints. If you prefer type-safe constraints please see "API Creation of Constraints" at the end of this document.
